In a strategic move to address the economic hardships and combat poverty being faced by his Constituents, the Member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency Plateau State at the National Assembly, Rep. Daniel Asama Ago on Monday 4th November, 2024 in Jos, the Plateau State Capital through the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) with support from 2 Spotless Wings Nig. Ltd. distributed empowerment items comprising of Sewing and Grinding Machines to over 200 Youths and Women who were carefully selected across Jos North and Bassa Local Government Areas.
While handing over the items to the Beneficiaries, Rep. Asama who was flanked by his beloved Wife disclosed that he has prioritise human capital development and empowerment in order to equip his constituents and make them economically stable in order for them to be productive and add value to the Federal Constituency, Plateau State and the Nation at large.
He hinted that more empowerment interventions are underway before the end of the Year and promised to continue to do his best to alleviate the sufferings being faced by the People and carry out his legislative duties effectively.
He charged the Beneficiaries to put the items to effective use so they can generate revenues from same that can make them economically stable.
He said the empowerment interventions was for the Constituents irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political inclinations.
He appreciated the People for the mandate given to him and promised not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him but justify same with outstanding representation.
He urged Nigerians to be patient with the present administrations both at the Federal and State levels as they work to fix the deteriorated economy they met. He further admonished Nigerians to remain patriotic and discard divisive tendencies.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for the concerted efforts they are deploying to better lives and transform the economy at the respective levels.
He said as a Representative, he will not relent in making quality laws, carrying out oversight functions and good representation which are the cardinal duties of Lawmakers. He mentioned that he has sponsored 12 Bills within 8 Months since he assumed office and will continue to do what would have direct impact on the People.
He vowed to accord his support to the Plateau State Governor and President Tinubu in their effort to address the economic and security wooes confronting the Nation irrespective of party affiliation but for national interest.
Ayo Akusuk, Ruth Asanato and other beneficiaries who couldn’t hide their joy appreciated the Lawmaker for the timely intervention and for identifying with them in this most trying time.
They prayed God to give the Lawmaker more wisdom, sound health and the lobbying capacity in order to reach more people with the gesture. They applauded the intervention which they said has given them a sense of belonging and made them have hope and more confidence in the Nation’s democracy.
The event was graced by other Lawmakers, the State Chairperson of Labour Party in Plateau State, Grace Zamfara, Party Executives, Members of the Party across the Federal Constituency, supporters and well wishers.
