The Member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rep. Dachung Musa Bagos has sponsored five (5) Bill at the House Plenary today Thursday 11th July, 2019.
Rep. Bagos said education is an area he intends to give greater attention towards equipping the next generation.
He made this know to Viewpoint Nigeria after the Plenary in which the four bills he sponsored where listed.
The Bills sponsored, listed and in their first reading are:
- National University Commission Act (Repeal and Enactment) Bill, 2019 (HB. 81);
- Fire and Rescue Service Bill, 2019 (HB. 83);
- Nigerian Educational Research & Development Council Act (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (HB. 84);
- Nigerian Minerals and Mining Bills, 2019 (HB. 87); and
- Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders (Establishment) Bill, 2019 (HB. 88)
Rep. Dachung Bagos has previously supported a motion on a matter of public importance moved by Rep. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon on the urgent need for the resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons and the release of the N10bn special intervention pledged by the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to the IDPs while on official visit to the State. Funds the Lawmakers said the impacts are still not being felt as the displaced persons are in camps living in terrific conditions.
Rep. Bagos has called on investigation into the utilization of the Fund if it has been released.
He also supported the motion by the Minority Leader, Rep. Ndidu Elumelu (PDP, Delta State) who spoke on the need for the Federal Government to respect court order of releasing the Leader of the Shiite Group, Sheikh Ibrahim Yaquop El-Zazakay following the affront by Hundreds of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, also known as Shiites , on Tuesday who stormed the National Assembly and shot a police officer and a civil defence officer .
It was learnt that the dreaded Shiite members overpowered the policemen at the gate, collected one of their guns and shot the two security operatives .
They entered the main entrance popularly known as MOPOL gate and vandalised the gatehouse.
They also burnt three vehicles and destroyed many others .
The sect members unleashed terror on other security operatives when tear -gas canisters were fired to disperse them .
