Rep . I. D. Gyang has been honoured by the Arewa Christian and Indigenous Pastors Association (ACIPA) in recognition of his sterling performance and people impacting representative in the National Assembly particularly in the area of Humanitarian and Community Service.

The ACIPA delegation led by the President, Rev. Luke Shehu while presenting the Award on Friday 15th September, 2017, expressed delight in the tangible results that Rep I. D. Gyang has attracted to his constituency and at the same time standing as a voice in the National Assembly thus merited the confidence and commendation of the association.

They expressed support for the Ecclesiastical Court Bill sponsored by Rep. I. D. Gyang and his colleagues and urged him not to relent despite temporary setback at the constitution review exercise.

The ACIPA Team further assured Rep Gyang of their desire to partner with the National Assembly in pursuing a national agenda that address existing glaring imbalances particularly the marginalization of the minority ethnic nationalities.

The ACIPA Team consisted of Trustees, Patrons and officials including the following;

Rev. Luka Shehu, Evangelist John Damshakal, Rev. Yunana La Nibetle, Evangelist Waziri Nyam, Rev. Yunana Desmond, Pastor Dula Daniel, Elder Paul Adagbo, Evangelist Josephine Akor, Pastor Mashingil, Barr. Sylvia T. Kumtong.

In response, Rep Gyang stated that the award was an indication that Nigerian citizens are keeping track of the performance of their representatives.

He assured the team that the award was a further challenge for him to raise the stake of quality representation even higher. He welcomed the on going debate on the national question with particular reference to the calls for restructuring and assured the team that, he will, along with his colleagues in the National Assembly, take up the matter as a priority on resumption from recess.

He express delight that the National Assembly is considering revisiting the Devolution of Powers Bill which failed at the Constitution Review Voting as a practical step in addressing the national question including calls for restructuring.

Rep Gyang submitted that he is an advocate of an all inclusive governance and federal structure that is fair, equitable and just to all Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity, religion or region such that will command the loyalty of all Nigerians and guarantee the existence of one united and peaceful nation.
