THE HONOURABLE MEMBER, JOS SOUTH/JOS EAST, NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CONDEMNS RENEWED ATTACKS IN PLATEAU STATE

The member representing Jos South/Jos East in the National Assembly, Dachung Musa Bagos is disheartened about renewed attacks on communities in Plateau State. With the recent attack on Wednesday, 6th May,2020 on Pastor Bayo Famonure, founder of Calvary Ministries (CAPRO), who was shot alongside his wife and children by the hoodlums  at their residence in Gana-Ropp community, Barkin Ladi Council Area of the state. The member who is visibly disturbed about the time these attacks take place wonders how criminal agents beats security agents, perpetrate these heinous acts and vanish into thin air without resistance and unscathed?

The member finds such absurdity ridiculous especially that these attacks are carried out during lockdown periods and curfews imposed by the State and Federal Government respectively; when law abiding citizens are stationed in their homes.

The member is also calling on the Federal security agencies as a matter of urgency come to the aid of these hapless citizens and provide them with security.

It is worrisome also that the State government has not mentioned in it’s broadcast to the state the happenings in Bassa Local government in the past which has emboldened the perpetrators to continue in this dastardly acts.

The member therefore calls on all relevant authorities to wake up and protect the lives and properties of Nigerians as it’s the minimum requirement from the government.

The member therefore, calls on citizens in those areas to be law abiding and restrain from taking laws into their hands but be vigilant at all times as government has shown time and again it’s incapability to protect them. He also enjoined them to keep safe; observe the social distancing policy of the government and sanitize their hands always.
