Re-Buhari’s Minister, Dalung vowed to ensure APC’s defeat in Plateau State – Maiwada Dammallam

I read with dismay another stunt by Plateau State Government to confuse the public and of course, twist the sordid narratives of the strides (or lack of it) made by the administration of Governor Simon Lalong to move the state forward.

It’s quite unfortunate that, rather than address the fundamental issues Minister of Youth & Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung raised, the state has resorted to using faceless groups to attack the Hon. Minister and in the process hide its inadequacies.

The latest of such gimmicks was the allegation made on behalf of the Plateau State Government by a mouthful group, Coalition for Monitoring Good Governance and Assessment in Nigeria, COMGAN. The group childishly alleged that Minister Dalung will work for the defeat of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Plateau State. I wonder how the group considered selling such a weird idea without considering how much it will endanger their respectability or how much the venture could expose them to public ridicule.

It’s not rocket science to understand that Dalung lives and breathes APC/PMB hence, could never do anything macro/micro inimical to the success of the two. Actually he only voiced his concern about the way Plateau State is being (mis)managed today by the administration of Governor Lalong only to avert the possible catastrophe such mismanagement could attract for APC in the upcoming 2019 elections.

It’s a wake-up call for the sleeping and snoring administration to wake-up to the reality of the situation and save APC the embarrassment of losing Plateau State simply because some people refused to act according to the tenets of the CHANGE agenda.

One may ask, how does Governor Simon Lalong became synonymous with APC that challenging his wasteful government become one and the same with efforts to defeat APC?

How does asking the whereabouts of loans acquired for specific purpose or evidence of the implementing the loan according to its terms and conditions turns into attack on the APC? APC is the vehicle that brought Lalong to power hence loyal members of the Party regardless of status or position should be concerned that he is rough-riding the APC and moving dangerous in a wrong direction.

To the congregation of the political novices under the banner of COMGAN, it’s politics 101 to know that Minister Dalung, a key player at the grassroots and the centre under an APC administration have more at stake for anybody to assume he will abandon his responsibility to see APC succeed at all levels by pretending all is well when it’s obvious all is wrong.

The defeat of APC in Plateau State is squarely a defeat for Dalung therefore, it’s bizarre and unimaginative for COMGAN to twist his lamentations about the unfortunate manner Plateau State is being mismanaged into anything other than preventive measures to avert disaster.

COMGAN should have done better by asking the Plateau State Government to disprove the allegations of Minister Dalung by justifying the revenues of the state from the inception of Governor Lalong to date. That will be more civilised than engaging sycophants to harass the Minister and relegate his critical observations on how to execute the earned mandate of the APC.

Reciprocating the trust of the electorates by delivering visible dividends is non-negotiable to APC just as shortchanging the public by dubious administrative stunts is strange to its ethics and objectives.

APC was not built on a foundation of deceit. It’s built on a solid foundation of trust and sincerity and decorated with an achievable pledge of giving Nigerians a fair deal.

This is saying, anybody not at home with President Buhari’s agenda of prudence, accountability and honesty may as well be on his own.
