Ramadan – Lalong calls on Muslims to pray for peace, progress, development of Nigeria,Plateau

Governor of Plateau State, Hon Simon Lalong has called on the Muslim Ummah to use the 30 days Ramadan Fasting to offer supplications to God for the peace, progress and development of the State and Nigeria in general.
This was contained in a statement signed by Samuel, Emmanuel Nanle ,the Director, Press and Public Affairs to Gov Lalong and made available to newsmen in Jos
He noted that the challenges faced by citizens due to dwindling economic fortunes amidst competing needs makes the Ramadan period a wonderful opportunity for the Moslem faithful to cry out to God for His divine intervention.
The Governor made this statement in his Ramadan – Kareem message to the entire Muslim Ummah at the commencement of the year 2018 fasting. He stated that fasting and prayer brings God’s nature and way of life to mankind and enjoined all Muslim to show love to one another including those of other faith as an expression of the life and virtues of the Holy Prophet which distinguished him as a Messenger of Allah SWT.
He added that when the world stays in peace; development is attained and freedom becomes a commodity for all.
The Governor also called on the religious leaders to preach the message of reconciliation, peace and tolerance to the followers and called for prayer for leaders.
He assures citizens of the State that Government will continue to promote peaceful coexistence and uphold freedom of religious practice.
Lalong also wished the Muslim Ummah a spiritually rewarding Ramadan Kareem period.
