Quality Representation: Plateau Commissioner calls for support for lawmakers

Plateau State Commissioner for Housing Barrister Zulfa Bitrus Rimven ,,yesterday called on citizens of the state to give needed support to their elected lawmakers towards achieving better representation.
He further described members of the 9th assembly of the Plateau State House of Assembly led by the Speaker Hon Nuhu Ayuba Abok as Capacity Lawmakers.
The Commissioner made this known while speaking with newsmen shortly after the ministry’s budget defense at the state assembly Complex in Jos .
He said the charismatic and vibrant nature in which the house of assembly handle the affairs of the 9th assembly is a clear indication that the members are true representatives of the people and that he is optimistic that plateau shall surely rise again with this caliber of people in position.
The Commissioner called on the lawmakers to keep up the pace of good work through quality legislation for the betterment and progress of plateau state.
Zulfa further commended Governor Simon Lalong,s fight against anti corruption stressing that it is yielding results as the state was recently rated as the second least corrupt state in the country .
He said “I congratulate our Governor , Gov Lalong on assumption assuming of office, declared zero tolerance to corruption and was among the first State in Nigeria to adopt the Treasury Single Account (TSA) where he made sure all monies accruing to Plateau State went to a single account for easy oversight and monitoring. “
Lalong also established the Efficiency Unit that is saddled with the duty of checking all proposals and requests to ensure that they are in line with the vision of the Government and offer value for the people.
He also put in place the Bureau for Public Procurement which has the mandate of vetting all procurements to ensure that there is no wasteful and exaggerated costs” he said.”
The Governor also set up the Project Monitoring and Result Delivery Unit (PMRDU) domiciled in the Office of the Chief of Staff with clear mandate to ensure diligent tracking of Projects and Programmes implementation by all the MDAs.
Governor Lalong is doing excellently well and i call on the people of the state to continue to support him at all times .
