Women across Qua’an Pan Local Government Area have passionately appealed to Caleb Mutfwang to consider allocating one of the constituency tickets in the area to a qualified woman, insisting that the time has come for women to be fully represented in leadership and governance.
The passionate appeal was made during a gathering held yesterday, where women from different communities in Qua’an Pan expressed deep concern over what they described as the continuous marginalization and underrepresentation of women in politics despite their enormous contributions to community development, peacebuilding, and electoral victories over the years.
According to the women, they have remained loyal, hardworking, and supportive of both the government and party structures, yet they are often sidelined when it comes to key elective positions. They lamented that for decades, the voices, concerns, and aspirations of women have not been adequately represented at the decision-making table despite the sacrifices women continue to make for the growth and stability of their communities.

The group stressed that electing a woman to represent the constituency would introduce a leadership style built on compassion, empathy, accountability, inclusiveness, and stronger grassroots connection. They argued that women naturally understand the everyday struggles faced by families, widows, children, youths, and vulnerable groups, making them better positioned to advocate for people-centered policies and programs.
“We need a woman to speak for us. Women are more empathetic, compassionate, and closer to the realities of the people at the grassroots. This is not just about politics; it is about fairness, inclusion, and giving women a sense of belonging,” the women stated passionately.
The women further described Governor Caleb Mutfwang as a listening, fair, and people-oriented leader, appealing to him to make history by supporting a credible, competent, and capable woman from Qua’an Pan for one of the constituency positions.
According to them, such a decision would not only inspire women and young girls across Plateau State but would also strengthen democracy, justice, unity, and inclusive governance in the state.
They noted that women in Qua’an Pan have consistently played major roles in mobilization, peacebuilding, humanitarian support, and electoral success, yet their efforts have not been rewarded with meaningful opportunities to serve in leadership positions.
The women also called on the Executive Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area to support their demand and help convey their message to Governor Mutfwang, insisting that their appeal reflects the aspirations of many people across the constituency.
“We are pleading with our Chairman to stand with the women of Qua’an Pan and help take our message to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang. This is a defining moment for women inclusion and equal representation in our constituency,” they said.
Reaffirming their loyalty and support for the governor’s administration, the women expressed confidence in his commitment to fairness, equity, justice, and equal opportunities for all citizens.
“Your Excellency, please listen to your women. Give us a woman. Let our voices be heard through one of our own,” they appealed.
