Professor Izam Inspects Facilities Ahead of Monday Accreditation Exercise

Preparatory to the second leg of accreditation visit for the remaining (5) programmes of Plateau State University, Bokkos, the Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Yahana Daniel Izam has inspected facilities to ensure that all the departments to undergo the accreditation are fully prepared for the exercise.

The second leg of the accreditation is slated to begin from Monday, 28th October, 2018. The programmes to be accredited are Computer Science, Mathematics, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Physics.

The Vice Chancellor was companied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. John Barnabas Nvau and Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs, Mr. Yakubu Ayuba who were received by the various Heads of Department (HoDs) who conducted them round the facilities and laboratories of the respective departments to ensure that all laboratory equipment are functional and ready for inspection when the accreditation teams arrive.

Professor Izam directed the Works department to ensure that all the necessary renovation works were completed over the weekend as the necessary working tools and other arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the success of the accreditation exercise.

It would be recalled that the first leg of the accreditation exercise for ten (10) programmes of the University took place in May this year and the result is very encouraging. The programmes that were accredited during the first leg of the exercise were; Mass Communication, Theatre Arts, Accounting, Business Management, Geography, English Language, Economics, Sociology, Political Science and History and International Studies.
