Prof. Dimis Mai-Lafia Meets Buji Ward PDP Stakeholders, Commended them For Support

The Director General of the PDP Campaign Council in Plateau State, Prof. Dimis Mai-Lafia on Saturday 30th March, 2019 met with PDP Ward Executuves and critical Stakeholders in Buji Ward of Bassa LGA, Plateau State to appreciate and encourage them on continuous supports to the Party.

The meeting held at the Headquarters of the ward at Rumfan Gwamna and was well attended by PDP Stakeholders across the Six Polling Units of the Ward which are: Zukku, Rumfan-Gwamna, Hwol Buji, Bintiri, Tumu and Tilla.

Prof Mai-Lafia in his speech told the audience that he was on a thank you visit to the ward for the support to the PDP in the last Governorship and House of Assembly elections by voting PDP to lead other parties in Buji ward. He also emphasized the overwhelming support he received from his polling unit which is Zuku Polling unit where the votes cast to PDP were more than double those of the APC. He also noted that since 1999 PDP has always won in Zuku and Rumfan Gwamna polling units which always give the winning votes for the entire ward at the aggregate level.

Prof. Dimis Mai-Lafia applauded the people for their support. He said Buji Ward is their root and they will continue to work towards its growth and development while discarding any tendencies of retrogression. He expressed happiness that they were not put to shame in the Ward and LGA despite the setback at the Constituency. Prof. Mai-Lafia applauded the people for resisting attempts to subvert their mandate.

He said he is proud to come from Buji Ward and do cast his vote in Zuku Polling Unit. He expressed his gratitude to the people for believing in him and supporting the PDP in the Ward

He admonished them to be fully prepared should there be a bye-election for Pengana Constituency on account of the demise of the declared winner, Late Hon. Ezekiel Afon who he prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Prof. Dimis Mai-Lafia charged them on healthy politics and play politics in love and unity.

He said he selected few from each unit who will step down the information to the people in their respective polling units

Prof. Dimis said with the way PDP is winning Governorship in the Country, it is clear that Alh. Atiku won the Presidency.

He said the funds spent by the APC to buy votes is enough to better the lives of Nigerians and transform the state and the nation

He discouraged campaigns of calumny and character assassination.

Prof. Dimis said being close to Sen. JT Useni made him understood that the Candidate has greater and better plans for the State to restore the heritage and vision of the State.

Prof. Mai-Lafia gave them words of encouragement on the need to remain resolute in PDP. He briefed them on how PDP is leading in the governorship elections in the country and on the high chances of the PDP reclaiming her mandate of the governorship in Plateau State and the Presidency.

The PDP Ward Chairman of Buji Ward Mr. Innocent Nahuta Chagumi appreciated Prof Dimis Mai-Lafia for this uncommon initiative. He said Zuku Polling unit and the entire Buji Ward are very proud of Prof Mai-Lafia for always being in touch with the grass root. He also thanked the Prof for briefing them on the bright chances of the PDP to reclaim the stolen mandate at the tribunals and for the words of encouragement to keep faith alive with the PDP. He also spoke on the need to step down this gesture to the units level. Mr. Chagumi thanked them for the support accorded the party during the general elections. The ward chairman encouraged them to keep supporting PDP against all odds.

The PDP house of assembly candidate for Pengana Hon. Yakubu Busa Buji in his remarks admonished them to go for candidates the party has produced. He charged them to encourage others to come out to vote in the forthcoming bye-election that may hold in the future. He said if justice is to be done, both the Presidential and Gubernatorial Mandates would be recovered. Hon. Yakubu urged them to vote credible leaders and discard primordial sentiments and love for money during elections. He promised to go round the Wards and Units which he has started.

An elder from the area, Mr. Samuel Karuri thanked the people for standing and supporting PDP. He said since 1999, the PDP has never lost election in the area and urged them to keep the feat.

He charged them on total loyalty and commitment to the party.and to be more united than ever.

Mr. Samuel Karuri said the legacies and antecedents of Late Hon. Busa Buji should spur them to give his child, the State Assembly Candidate for Pengana Constituency the needed electoral support.

He said they have greater responsibilities to Buji Ward and they are thriving not to disappoint them.

He asked them to discard all forms of religious sentiments and vote credible leaders at all times, that is people who are ready to work selflessly for the people. He said those in PDP are not ashamed but can walk tall considering their track records. He admonished them on assisting one another and make human capital development key. Elder Karuri finally urged them to unite for progress and development.
