Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni has expressed shock at the passing away of the first civilian Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Prof. Dakum Shown.

When he visited the Shown family residence on Saturday afternoon, Gen Useni paused a few moments in shock, but managed to utter a few words.

“Professor was my very good friend. He was also married to my sister, Laraba. May God comfort you all.”

Responding on behalf of the family, Dr. Setle Daze, thanked Sen Useni for the visit.

“This is your home. The visit has consoled us. Prof Shown was a pillar in Mupun nation. He held the pillar untill he passed on. He made a name and will live in the hearts of the Mupun people, and the people of Nigeria as a whole.”

Dr Daze announced that the body has been airlifted from India to Abuja, and the funeral date will be fixed in consultation with the church.
