Following strings of poor results, the Kwara State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development has suspended Kwara United FC Coach, Tunde Abdurahman.

His indefinite suspension was announced by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Rhoda Ajiboye, Tuesday, in Ilorin.

Ajiboye, after a brief meeting with the club’s Management Team and Technical Crew in Ilorin, announced his suspension. She said, “The suspension is indefinite, and Tunde Sanni will now take over the affairs of the team.

According the Permanent Secretary, the suspension became necessary in view of the present poor run of the club in the ongoing 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League season. She also disclosed that other coaches in the team have been placed on half salaries.

Ajiboye then charged the club Management to rise to the occasion as no act of negligence would be entertained from it henceforth.

She pledged the State Government’s resolve to reinforce necessary areas in the team during the next transfer window.

“I urge the players to give their best, as government is working round the clock to ensure they don’t lack anything towards ensuring a successful league season”.

It would be recalled that the club had last Sunday recorded its second consecutive home defeat of the season, after losing 0-1 to Sharks FC of Port Harcourt. The club also lost to Enyimba International FC of Aba 2-3 in week 15 of the 2014/2015 league.
