As preparations for the 2023 General Elections continue with dateline for the submission of Candidates of all participating Political Parties slated for 3rd June, 2022 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the right things are done and the timelines are strictly adhered to.
It is in this light that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP appointed Barr. Gyang Zi, a legal luminary in Jos Plateau State to head the 2022 National Assembly Congress Appeal Panel for Kogi State to handle appeals that may arise from the conduct of National Assembly Primary Elections in the State.
His appointment was contained in a letter dated Monday 23rd May 2022 signed by the PDP National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature.
The appeal is slated to hold on Thursday May 26th, 2022 at the State Secretariat of the Party in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The committee was charged to ensure strict adherence to the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), the electoral guidelines for Primary elections and the 2022 Electoral Act.
“It is expected that your exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during your assignment will justify the confidence reposed in you by the leadership of the party” the letter said.
Dr. Kingsley Okey Mbionwu is to serve as Member while Barr. Yakubu Madeh is to serve as Secretary of the Committee.
Barr. Gyang Zi in his remarks following the appointed appreciated the Party for finding them worthy stating that they will do their best to discharge their duties meticulously in line with their terms of reference.
He also described other Members of the Committee as persons of impeccable character calling for support in order for them to carry out their assignment effectively.
He charged Nigerians to give PDP the need support to reclaim power from the ruling who is said has ruined the fortune and image of the Country globally.
Barr. Gyang Zi was appointed Member of the PDP State House of Assembly Screening Committee in April, 2022.
