The dream of former Vice President Alh. Atiku Abubakar to become Nigeria’s president yesterday got the endorsement of Plateau youths under the auspices of ‘Atikulated Group’ Plateau state chapter. In a meeting at Zooview Gardens Jos Thursday 5th Jan, 2017, the youths appear set to canvass support for the Turakin Adamawa across the state to help him realise his presidential ambition. The meeting which had in attendance some youths drawn from different Local Governments include: Mr. Christopher Danjem (state coordinator), Mallam Abdul Yaro (state secretary), Mr. kawu Sale Hassan (State Youth Leader), Mr. Friday Bako (State Publicity Secretary) and Alh. Danbaba Aliyu. Some resolutions reached during the meeting were:
1. Inauguration of Local Government and Zonal coordinators which would hold tentatively on Sat, 28th Jan, 2017 at Zoo View conference hall Jos.
2. Releasing a press statement to be made available to journalists and the general public on the same day of the inauguration.
3. Courtesy calls on some friends believe to be supportive of Atiku’s candidacy, among other resolutions.
Atiku Abubakar was Nigeria’s vice president during both tenures of President Obasanjo from 1999-2007. They later fell apart on political grounds. Since then, Atiku’s presidential ambitions in ACN, PDP and later APC had hit brick walls. Currently, he’s a business mogul with an international network and a mass employer of labour. For now, Atiku Abubakar hasn’t declared interest, but obviously, his body language speaks volume of the fact that he may throw his hat. The party platform is not known yet.
