The Police in Plateau State yesterday said 33 suspected members of a sara-suka who damaged 35 vehicles and 39 tricycles in Jos north local government area on Monday have been arrested.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, told Daily Trust on phone that the police also recovered 23 knives, 120 sachets of tramadol, an opioid pain killer and 95 wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

“We also found them with several forms of assorted charms,” said police spokesperson, Terna

He said 21 suspects were earlier arrested on Monday but with the cooperation of the affected communities, the number of suspects had risen to 33 by Tuesday.

“In the past, the communities were shielding the criminals but now that they (sara-suka) are beginning to hit at them, they are cooperating with us and they are the ones giving us information on some of the criminals and their activities,” he said.
