Following recent attacks in Wase, Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, where scores of people were killed and properties worth millions of naira destroyed, Plateau Youths have threatened to take the Nigerian military to the International Criminal Court of Justice for crimes against humanity.

The youths made their position known during a peaceful “Voice Protest” along Yakubu Gowon way in Jos the Plateau State Capital, Monday.

The youths who were over 1, 000, lamented the killing of especially women and children in the aforementioned LGAs in the State.

The youths position was presented by Dr Daniel Meshak, said, “We condemn in totality any harm whatsoever against our Nigerian soldiers, however, it’s even more devilish to waste lives at will without making diligent findings to identify those responsible through a well-coordinated intelligence.

“We condemn the killing of these innocent citizens across the state and call on all authorities concerned to appropriately deal with this matter to its very roots.

“In the event that the military does not take action, we would petition it before the International Criminal Court of Justice for crimes against humanity for killing unarmed civilians. The group warned.

“The Military should make known the outcome of their two weeks operation in parts of Barkin Ladi and Riyom where the killings still continues till this moment.

The youths also called on the security operatives to make sure that, “A Thorough search should be done in areas of Mahanga, Bangyai, Shonong, Atakar, Kwi, Rim, Sopp, and parts Bokkos to be able to fish out those unknown men who have been terrorizing the areas.

They appeal to the security agencies to response timely to distress calls.
