Plateau Youth G-17 Peace and Progressive Forum held an intercessory prayers against the attacks and killings in Plateau State and Nigeria as well as candlelight procession for those who lost their lives through violent attacks by insurgents.
The event which took place at Karibajo Playground Hwolshe Jos, Plateau State witnessed good turnout of people who were mostly dressed in black.
The Leader of G-17, Mr. Dachung Bagos in his opening remark thanked the people for coming out for the event and said Plateau State and Nigeria is going through precarious times which requires God’s divine intervention to overcome the problem of insurgency that has taken centre stage in our daily existence.
Mr. Bagos said the essence of the gathering is to seek the face of God, cry out to Him, pray for His intervention so as to bring an end to the violent attacks and insurgency ravaging Plateau State, Benue, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and other parts of Nigeria as well the restoration of permanent peace.
The ArchBishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Jos (Anglican Communion) the Most Rev Benjamin Kwashi who gave the message charged the gathering to remain steadfast in God, unite and remain vigilant to overcome the barbaric and inhuman attacks/killings going on.
He prayed for the victory of the Nigeria’s troops against the insurgents and criminals and for the restoration of peace in Plateau State, North Central and all over Nigeria.
Rev. Sam Pam prayed for God’s to visit the perpetuators of the attacks and killings meted on Plateau people and other parts of Nigeria with His vengeance since vengeance is His.
Prayers were made for God to avenge the killings of innocent people, expose the sponsors of insurgency and the release of the Dapchi Christian Schoolgirl still in captive by the alleged dreaded Boko Haram for not denouncing her faith after the release of 91 who were all Muslims and killing of five others.
The event climaxed with candlelight procession led by Most Rev. Bishop Kwashi and other Clergymen for those killed from the venue to Old Airport Roundabout.
