The Gwom Rwey (District Head) Kuru Jos South LGA in Plateau State North Central Nigeria, His Royal Highness Da Patrick Mandung has described his 35 Years on the throne as the will of God and journey of faith in the Almighty.
The Royal Father appreciated the people for their supports to the traditional council as well as to the growth and development.
He dedicated the success of his reign on the throne as District Head of Kuru to God Almighty and the people of the area who have been supportive to Him. He charged the people not t give up on account of the challenges bedevilling the people but turn t God who he described as their last resort and only hope.
He urged the people to remain vigilant and alert in order not to be taken unawares by attackers. He called for more security consciousness among the people.
He marked the 35 Years Anniversary today Sunday 25th April, 2021 with a Fundraising for the completion of Saint Dennis Catholic Church Dakan Kuru.
Programme of events for anniversary include fitness exercise/jogging from his Palace, commissioning of Public Water Project (donated by Engr. Markus Dye) by the Celebrant at Trade Centre Hwak Kuru, Music Concert and Gospel Music Concert at Kuru Maternity Kushe which all held on Saturday 24th April, 2021.
A Medical outreach for the elderly by a Team of Medical Professionals preceded the Thanksgiving mass which held at St. Dennis Catholic Church Dakan, Kuru.
Born 12th April, 1943 to the family of Da Mandung Zakeri Pwajok, HRH Da Patrick Mandung obeyed the clarion call of his people to be the Gwom Rwey Kuru and was coronated for same on 16th November, 1985, a position he is still holding till date.
Speaking at the event, Rev. Fr. Joseph Nyam described the Paramount Ruler as a Unifier, visionary and exceptional leader.
Rev. Fr. Nyam said the Berom Nation is blessed with human and natural resources as well as good weather that must be harnessed for the common good of the people, State & Nation.
He admonished the Traditional Rulers to be more cautious in signing for indiscriminate and unhealthy sales of lands in their areas.
He called on the Kuru people to take education seriously in order to be well informed and educated to face the challenges of life.
He urged parents to support their children in pursuing their education and other skill acquisition activities.
He called for the creation of more Districts out of the existing Districts.
He recognised the immense contributions of Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN, Amb. Chris Giwa, Da Michael Dalyop Dapwe, Prof. Pam Sha, Engr. Markus Choji Dye FNSE and others who he described as illustrious Sons who are good Ambassadors of Kuru District and contributing immensely to the prosperity of not just the District, but Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
He called for effective mentorship for the growth, progress and development of the area as well as infrastructural attention to the gateway District, Kuru by Government at all levels.
He advocated for State policing to tackle the issue of illegal immigrants that has heightened insecurity and urged the State government to conduct Local Government polls in areas that are yet to have democratically elected officials.
He lauded the contributions of the Gwom Rwei to the growth and development of the area, calling on him to be more focused in service to humanity and the society.
In his remarks, the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs, His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CON congratulated the Celebrant and prayed God to endow him with sound health and more wisdom to lead the people.
He harped on purposive unity and charged the people to accord the needed support to the Celebrant in order to succeed in leading the people.

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of an Award of Honour for selfless service to humanity to Da Chuhwak Pam Fom by Kuru Community for his affordable health services to to the community.
The event was well attended by Traditional Rulers, Clergies, illustrious Sons and Daughter of Kuru District and other well wishers. The event also featured the cutting of the Anniversary Cake.
