This development was made clear to journalists, by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Fom Dakwak at the weekend, during the opening of a two-day training workshop organised for health workers in the state at the Life Saving Skills Centre of the Plateau Specialist Hospital Jos.
Declaring the workshop open, the commissioner said although the state has not recorded any case of the disease, Governor Jonah Jang has released funds for life support ambulance, utility vehicles, personal protective equipment and others.

Dakwak, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Elias Pede, said: “We are also in collaboration with Ministry of Education to stamp out any case of the disease in the state, though there is no such case in the state. Ours is just preventive measures.”
Facilitator at the training and Head of the Team, Ebola Virus Disease Training, Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ilori, said the training would equip the participants with knowledge and technical know-how about the disease.
He said health workers and other stakeholders would be trained on how to recognise Ebola Virus Disease and prevent it.
Several health professional in Plateau state attended the workshop, including Directors from the Health Ministry, medical doctors, pharmacists, health scientist and laboratory technicians etc.
