The committee, chaired by Dr. Shurkuk himself, brings together key experts from critical sectors. Members include Mr. Inusa Mashano, Coordinator of the Science Centre; Mr. Rwang Deme from Government Technical College Bukuru (BUTEX); Dr. Zwalnan Zalfa Johnson from Plateau State Polytechnic; Mr. Kefas Amdal from the Ministry of Education; Mr. Richard Doktori from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation; and external expert, Engineer William Gyang a Staff of PRTVC Jos and inventor of great repute.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Shurkuk emphasized that revitalizing these technical structures is crucial for developing a workforce capable of driving innovation and economic growth in Plateau State. “Investing in the production of science equipment and the improvement of technical training is a step towards self-reliance, youth empowerment, and the sustainable development of our education sector,” he stated.
According to Dr. Shurkuk the move aligns with the Time is Now Administration broader vision of improving access to quality education, fostering technological development, and equipping young people with the necessary skills to thrive in an increasingly technological world.
As the Technical Committee begins its work, stakeholders across the education and technology sectors are optimistic that this effort will yield transformative results and position Plateau State as a leader in science and technology education in Nigeria.
