Plateau State Possesses Immense Tourism Potentials – Olusegun Runsewe

As the Plateau State 2020 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) kicks off in Jos, Plateau State, Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Mr. Otunba Olusegun Runsewe OON has described Plateau State as one of the Tourist Destinations in Nigeria owing to its huge tourism potentials and hospitable citizens.

Mr. Runsewe said if properly harnessed, Tourism can enhance economic prosperity for the State.
He said the State is endowed with one of the best weather and natural features that are tourist attractions.

He said the choice of Plateau State as the host of the 2020 NAFEST was the best decision and lauded the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong for influencing the decision.

He charged the people to remain united, promote peaceful coexistence and eschew all forms of violence.
He urged the people to rally round the Governor and assist in harnessing the huge potentials the State possesses for greater economic development.

Mr. Runsewe said they will visit some tourist sites in the State before departure.

In her address, the Honorable Commissioner of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Hon. (Mrs) Tamwakat Weli welcomed all dignitaries and said the event will showcase the tourism and cultural potentials in the State.
She lauded the State Governor for his commitment towards enhancing tourism in Plateau State.

The Opening ceremony which was well attended by the Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, Her Excellency Same Pauline Tallen Minister of Women Affairs, Legislators, other top government functionaries, National Figures and other important personalities featured cultural display, Poem and a mind blowing presentation by Children.
