The Plateau State PDP Youth Network held a strategic session towards repositioning of the party to victory in future elections

Presentation on Youth and Democracy was made by Mrs. Jiritmwa M. Goyit while Mrs. Precious Kaneng Nyako presented on Loyalty to Political Party and Aspirants/Candidates.

Mrs. Jiritmwa in her presentation said the youth must unite, remain focused and aspire to be great leaders with integrity.

She said, democracy involves politics, the electoral and governance processes.

She challenged the youths to participate fully in politics and ensure they support credible youths and other persons vying for elective positions.

She said youth should expand their tentacles, go out to participate in national politics and not remain local champions in the State but national and global citizens. She challenged them to remain committed to sound ideologies that can transform the nation. She tasked them to remain resolute and contribute immensely to the growth of the party, PDP. Youth must build and develop themselves for leadership in order to avoid leadership failure she concluded.

Mrs Kaneng Nyako in her presentation challenge the youths on loyalty to put loyalty to the party above aspirants and candidates to avoid attrition and anti-party activities.

She said anti-party shows lack of integrity and an indication of absence of sound moral. She termed it the worst political sin someone can commit to his political party. She said people today are attached to aspirants, candidates and politicians based on what they can get financially from them, relationship, tribe and others which is inimical to democratic growth. She urged the youth not to display sentiments in their choices of candidates instead look at their competencies, credibility, integrity and their antecedents.

Goodwill messages were made by Da Jonathan Pwajok, Hon. Mangna Yusuf Wamyil, Barrister Gyang Zi, Mr. Akims James Mamot, Hon. Umar Allahbura, Hon. John Akans Plateau State PDP State Publicity Secretary and other youths who agreed that people who are compassionate and problem-solvers should be supported to occupy elective positions to transform the Wards, Local Government Areas, State and Nation at large.
They said with the arrays of youth at the meeting, she see a great transHe also charged them youths to support those that emerged as Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates as there were significant improvements that should be appreciated and applauded in the Primaries.

He charged them not to allow any aspirant who lost or his/her supporters to lure them into anti-party activities. He said the processes in the primaries were credible as those who emerged were the choices of the masses.

Da Jonathan Pwajok said times have changed significantly and only those who are resilient and smart can move with the political transformation. He said 2019 general elections will be a great deviation from what was obtainable and charge the youth to display their skills and competencies toward outsmarting the strategies of their oppositions.

He went further to say the ruling party APC has lost the goodwill it was enjoying from the people and its abysmal performances are already in favor of the PDP. PDP needs to be more strategic, focused and united he concluded.

The youths promised to work for the success of the party at all levels in future election.

It was a great moments with youth from all across the State in attendance.
