As the Plateau State Local Government and 2019 General Elections draw closer and begin to gather momentum, political support groups are springing up.

Among these support groups is a strong and organized group, Plateau State Chapter of PDP Ward2Ward with the aim of aggressive grassroot mobilization to ensure the victory of PDP in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Plateau State and the 2019 General Elections.

Today, 18th April, 2019 the Plateau State Chapter of PDP Ward2Ward Group inaugurated its Local Government Coordinators at the Plateau State PDP Secretariat Opposite NTA along Yakubu Gowon Way Jos, Plateau State.

The State Coordinator of the group, Mr. Solomon Shitna’an in his opening remark welcomes all prospective Coordinators and supporters of the party. He said the core objective of the creation of the group is for the aggregation of the most active members of the PDP at the grassroot on a Ward to Ward basis.
He said politically, grassroot is the bottom of the political pyramid, opposite the “establishment” which controls the top. He said the grassroot includes virtually everyone.
He said the main purpose of the group is to sensitize and create critical awareness among the people that power should not be concentrated in one place, it should be decentralized and that is the gap Ward2Ward intends to fill. He said building strong grassroot base around PDP is significant to winning the forthcoming elections.
He said grassroot democracy should be allowed so that everyone would come on board regardless of their beliefs and background.

He said the ruling party, APC has failed Nigerians and there is need for its replacement in future elections most especially the forthcoming local government polls and 2019 general elections.

He said their activities include organizing rallies, collaborating with Nigerian Entertainment Industry in Plateau State to bring out campaigns toward winning 2019 elections, mobilization of displaced persons as well as people living with disabilities for political involvement/participation, collaboration with all PDP affiliation campaign groups, collaboration with media institutions, collaboration with security agencies in the State, collaboration with all higher institutions through campus Ward2Ward Group and intend to visit INEC to make sure people that registered collects their PVCs as well as advocating for speedy registration of those not registered.

He called on the people to continue to give the PDP at all levels unalloyed support.
We will give all candidates who emerge from our great party, PDP massive campaign and mobilization supports of our mass followers he concluded.

Patron of the group and a political mogul, Nde Alexander Molwus made presentation during the event on the topic “Return of the PDP: A New Dawn of Prosperity, Security and Welfare”

He said the gathering is a bearer of the good news that the storm is over: no more hunger, no more insecurity, no more lack of welfare. He said the PDP is back with the basics of responsible politics – prosperity, security and welfare.
Nde Alexander Molwus said democracy is globally regarded as the ideal system of government because it guarantees the political and social structure through adequate representation and popular participation – the necessary structure that can make the people happy, fulfilled and secured in their homes and Country.

He said APC has sunk and still sinking all the negatives aggregating to an incontrovertible truth that the party is in trouble and at the gates of extinction.
He said PDP left a healthy, secured and well-nourished citizenry as it took leave in 2015. He said PDP is returning to recover an impoverished population decimated in all its ranks and diseased in all its rungs.
He said PDP brought people-oriented welfare programmes such as YOU-WIN, SURE-P and established government welfare services.

Nde Molwus said the Plateau people and Nigerians are not happy and tired of the APC on account of the hardships and sufferings it has afflicted on the people.
He said PDP is the only party that can present good governance to Plateau State and Nigeria, hence the need to be supported.
He said APC is destabilizing Nigeria, social injustices are now order of the day and the lopsided appointments is an attestation of the ethnocentric nature of the APC. He said President Buhari fight against corruption is targeted at people who refused to decamp while very corrupt persons who decamped to the APC are being treated as VIPs in the Party as reflected in the list of looters released by the FG.
