Plateau State Government will ensure Peaceful conduct of LGC Elections, says SSG

Plateau State Government has disclose that it will put in place everything humanly possible to ensure that the conduct of the Local Government Elections in the State slated for 17th February 2018 is not only free and fair but Peaceful.

The Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Hon. Rufus Bature stated this while speaking to Newsmen after attending the New Year Celebration organized by the Management Committee chairman of Riyom Local Government having community suffer crisis and herdsmen attacks for many years.

“The Present administration under the humble Leadership of Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong in this year 2018, we will consolidate on the peace being experience in the state and put in Place everything humanly possible to ensure that we conduct Local government elections that will be free and fair and hopefully peaceful”.

While Speaking on the achievement of the Lalong administration, Bature said government is looking inward into grassroot to make sure that development touches each and every corner of the state, saying because is from the grassroot that will build the local governments and State and the Federation.

The SSG charge all Plateau State citizens to continue to show love for one another, saying the peace has come to stay with the peaceful celebration of Christmas and new year without any attack or breach of Peace in the State.

“Let us build confidence and consolidate on the Peace, be our brothers keepers, have tolerance, Patience and understanding is the key words”.

According to him the Lalong administration has taken steps to tackles youth unemployment through partnering with the Federal Government in the social investment Project to make sure youths acquired skills so that they will be on their own”

“The catch word is self employment, government employment is no longer the key thing, the key thing now is self employment and that is why we have developed the mechanism, we have created the enabling environment so that skills acquisition becomes the key aspects of peoples lives, so that people will developed talent, acquired talent so that the whole nation will benefit from it, so as a government we are partnering with the Federal Government, doing everything possible to ensure that we take the youths out of drunkenness, take them out of drugs abuse and other nefarious tendencies”.
