Plateau State Government Signs Electricity Purchase Agreement With Shimankar Valley Ltd and Lo-Michaels International Ltd

The 18th Day of July 2024 marked a milestone and a key achievement in the energy sector of Plateau State where an Electricity purchase agreement between the Plateau State Energy Corporation and two companies, Shimankar Valley Limited and Lo-Michaels International Limited.
The Electricity purchase agreement was between the Plateau State Government and the two companies which marks the beginning of one of the biggest milestone achievements of the Caleb Manasseh mutfwang’s led Administration in expanding the electricity market in Plateau State.

The Plateau State Energy Corporation is saddled with the responsibility of Energy Generation, Transmission and distribution and what has given credence to the beginning of an Era in the Plateau State electricity market by signing into law of the Plateau State Electricity Law by His Excellency Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The Governor who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner of Water Resources and Energy, Hon. Noel Nkur
who appreciated His Excellency Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in His words “Governor Caleb Mutfwang is a workaholic leader and someone who has the interest of the people at heart, that is why he has ventured into people centered projects across the State. He also congratulated the service providers and assured them of their safety and every support the need to ensure that Electricity sufficiency and sustainability is achieved in Plateau State.

The agreement signing was witnessed by the Attorney General of the State who was represented by Barr. Itse From the ministry of Justice.
The Managing Director/CEO of the Plateau State Energy Corporation, Engr. Ponzin Bindong Gamde applauded His Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang for signing into law of the Plateau State Electricity Act 2024. He also congratulated Shimankar Valley limited and Lo-Michael’s international. He counted them as the most qualified after every due process as companies who will aid the expansion of the electricity market in Plateau State. He also encouraged them to meet up to ensure that the people of plateau state benefit from power in terms of distribution within the shortest possible time across the state.

The Managing Director of Shimankar valley limited AVM Pam Chollom (Rtd) thanked the Plateau State Government for the opportunity and expressed willingness to working with the plateau state government and assured the Government and people of plateau state towards making the plateau state energy corporation efficient in terms of energy Generation, Transmission and distribution of clean energy which has a potential of wind, solar energy and assured even the creation of hybrid, He said plateau state has the potential of generating 300 megawatts of clean energy and can even export to other states which will derive in revenues to the state,he promised to double efforts and expedite action as a company.

Also the Managing Director and CEO of Loh-Michaels international Limited Mr. Michael Olakpe who is one of the independent power provider congratulated the government and people of Plateau State. He said plateau state is the first state to key into hydro production of power which is the safest, cheaper and the most reliable source of energy and said these are foreign direct investments which will derive in profits and increase the revenue base of the state.
Finally he thanked the Government and people of Plateau State and assured the stabilization of power within a year in Plateau State.
