Plateau State Government Lifts Temporal Ban on Tricycle Operations

Report reaching Viewpoint Nigeria has it that the Government of Plateau State has lifted the temporal ban imposed on Tricycle Operators on 26th February, 2018 following the violent and unruly protest embarked by them that led to the destruction of property and injured many.

In a statement signed by the Permanent secretary Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Cornelius Shiolbial on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the State Da Hon. Rufus Bature said the lifting is with effect from 1st March, 2018.

The statement adds that the operation time of the KEKE NAPEP remains unchanged from 6am to 8:30pm while the ban on the operation of motorcycles is still in place.

The statement also directed security agencies to ensure that those arrested in connection to the violent protest are prosecuted according.

The decision was reached after a careful re-appraisal and consideration of the public’s plights.
