Plateau State Government Declares 1st June, 2022 Half Working Day for Civil Servants to Observe Solemn Assembly

Governor Simon Lalong has approved on Wednesday the first of June twenty twenty – two as half working day for civil servants to enable them participate in this year’s Plateau State Solemn Assembly.

Governor Lalong disclosed this when he received a delegation of the Solemn Assembly Committee led by Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter, Very Reverend Father Polycarp Lubo.

The Solemn Assembly is to hold at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.

The Solemn Assembly Planing committee led by denominational leaders across the state were at the official residence of Governor Simon Lalong to brief him on plans to host the event towards prayers for God’s mercy for the healing of the land.

Governor Simon Lalong who appreciated them for the idea stressed that it is the best way of showing the entire world that Christians in Plateau State are united in confronting their challenges.

Governor Simon Lalong said though the timing of the event falls at working hours, civil servants will be given an equal opportunity to attend the solemn Assembly on Wednesday this week.

The Governor used the opportunity to encourage Christians to shun vengeance and continue embracing tolerance with fervent prayers for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

Earlier, CAN Chairman Very Reverend Father Polycarp Lubo said their intention is for everyone burdened over the current challenges of the state and entire nation to be present for a moment of corporate prayers.

The official invitation for the event was given to Governor Lalong by Chairman of the, Contact, Mobilization and Publicity Organizing Committee Reverend Stephen Dangana after the meeting.
