Plateau state conference of leaders forum , legislative arm on Monday said it has been empowered by the councillors forum and National Secretariat to supervise and ensure the constitution of a forum for all councillors which will be recognized and accorded all necessary support to carry out activities for the collective good of all councillors and generality of the public

Chairman of the forum and leader of Mangu local government legislative arm , Hon Barrister Daniel Emmanuel while addressing newsmen in Jos said “the conference of leaders wish to inform all councillors across the 13 local government areas of Plateau state where elections have been conducted and the general public that guidelines for the conduct of elections into various offices under the councillors forum Plateau state chapter is now in place .

“We are informing councillors and intending candidates that electoral guidelines have already been sent to the various local government councils for interested persons to get informed as the processes leading to the elections commences .”
“We wish to inform councillors vying for various positions that as from Monday 1st July 2019 , sale of forms shall commence and end on the 7th of July 2019 ,”
Screening of candidates have been zoned according to the three senatorial district of the state ,the Northern Senatorial district is to hold its screening on the 10th of July 2019 at the Jos East local government legislative council Chambers , the screening for councillors from the central zone will take their turn on the 11th July 2019 at the Pankshin local government legislative council Chambers, while that of the southern zone will come up on the 12th of July 2019 at Langtang North local government chambers and it will climax with election into various offices of the councillors forum ,Plateau state chapter on the 13th of July 2019 and venue will be Wase local government Secretariat .

He further said ” The coming on board of the councillors forum will no doubt help in consolidating the laudable achievements of the Simon Lalong led administration in delivering dividends of democracy to all citizenry “
The councillors further thanked Governor Simon Lalong for the tremendous achievements recorded in his first term and congratulated the speaker of the state house of assembly ,Hon Nuhu Abok Ayuba on his emergence as speaker 9th state assembly as well as other principal officers .

The forum also congratulated Hon Idris Maje on his emergence as deputy speaker of the house of representative and pray to God to see them through as they discharge their various responsibilities to the people .
Our correspondent reports that the conference of leaders forum ,legislative arm is a body of leaders of the various legislative arms of the local government across the entire seventeen local government areas of Plateau state ,while the councillors forum is a body of all elected councillors including the leaders of the legislative arm with a spread across the length and breath of the country and National Secretariat in Abuja
