Senator Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut (APC Plateau South ) on Sunday called for increased investment in girl-child education in the country in order to bridge the gender gap and reduce inequality.

She further advocated for more political will to advance women issues in the country.

” I call for women to get actively involved in politics ,because they have what it takes to provide dividends of democracy to the people .”

Dadu’ut made this known while presenting prizes to some winners of a beauty pageant she sponsored at Bit Kaa Pang Matlong ,a cultural feast which holds annually on 1st October in Quanpan local government council of Plateau .

Represented by Alhaji Salihu Mohammed Bwall ,her Liaison Officer in Quanpan L.G.A ,she said ” I called on women and girls to continue to seek for education to become responsible in the society”

Dadu’ut who further called for opportunities to be given to women to give expression to their voices in the scheme of things in the country also urged women to imbibe the culture of patriotism and instil same in their children by promoting unity in diversity .

She said every effort to reduce inequality must be rooted in the education of the girl-child, adding that education remains the most potent approach to empowering women to take a bold step that will challenge the status quo and make a mark in the society.

Some of the beneficiaries of the beauty pageant includes ,Duan Jepjan, Lilian Peter Doekwaan , Mary Fidelis and Mercy Dalong while prizes like Generators , Gas cooker and Standing fans were presented to the winners .

Senator Dadu’ut further pledged to continue to put the interest of her constituents first at all times .

“I would always continue to work to ensure that development is brought to our Senatorial district ( Plateau south ) ” ,she further added .
