Plateau South Senate Bye-election: Poll Peaceful, Turnout Low at LG Hqtrs While Impressive in Rural Areas

As people of Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone go to the poll to elect who will represent them as their Senator, Viewpoint Nigeria went round Shendam, Mikang and Langtang North LGAs to monitor the conduct of the election.

While voters’ apathy was noticed in all the Local Government Headquarters visited, impressive turnout were witnessed in rural areas.

The conduct of electorates was peaceful in all the Polling units visited.
The INEC Officials and security agencies were seen carrying out their duties effectively.

The Places visited in Langtang North LGA were; Zangzat, Pangna and Voting Centres in the Local Government Headquarters. In Mikang LGA, Viewpoint Nigeria Reporters were in Tunkus, Mdega’am, Piapung, Konggung, Muanpus and Lakai. In Shendam, the Headquarter of the Southern Zone Kurum Lazai, Kopgalwa, Ajikamai, Pangtumu, Garkawa Street ‘A’ Shendam Central, Gidan Adamu, Luwokur South, Tudun Wada and many other Polling Units domiciled at the Council Headquarter.

At the time of filing this reports, results from few Polling Units have been released.

In few hours, people of the Southern Zone will have a Senator to represent them at the Upper Chamber of the Parliament.
