GUIDELINES FOR THE 2020 PLATEAU SOCIAL MEDIA AWARDS 2.0 ONLINE WEBINAR/AWARDS

Due to the Covid19 global pandemic and efforts of Government,Civil Society,Organisations and individuals to fight the Virus.

The 2020 Plateau Social Media Awards #PSMA2.0 Will hold on virtual media .

The Award/Webinar with the theme “combating Fake news, Misinformation and hate speech on the Plateau online Community” will hold on the 12th of July,2020 online.

Here are the guidelines for nomination of eligible awardees that deserve to be crowned for using the social media for social Good.

1.Online Nomination will hold for one week (7 days) where people will send in their nominations of people they think deserve a particular category for their good use of the social media platform.

2.people must nominate people that are relevant to a particular award category as professionals in the field or deserving of the category.

3.online voting will make up 80 % of the votes while the Team of judges will have 20% to decide.

4.the top five names in each category will be shortlisted for the final voting.

5.we will have 20 categories of nominations for people to nominate.

6.The date for online nomination will be announced on 5th June,2020 by the team

1. Some deserving individuals will be given special recognition Awards tagged “Heroes Of Covid19” for their contributions in using the Social Media in fighting the pandemic that has changed our lives forever .

PROJECT DECRIPTION:

The Plateau Social Media
Webinar is a Program proposed to hold on the sidelines of the Plateau Social Media Awards 2020.

The project is intended to bring together Social media influencers, Digital Media practitioners, enthusiasts and researchers to brainstorm on ways to increase media literacy so as to curb the spread of malicious media content amongst the Plateau Online Community.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:

The singular objective of the program is to bring together relevant stakeholders and actors in the Social Media / Digital Space and create linkages for collaboration in the area of media literacy to enable the building of communities that are devoid of misinformation, hate speech and fake news.

Highlights of the Event:

The highlight of the one day even will be the contestation for the Twenty slots which are up for grabs at this year’s PSMA Awards.

This year, deserving individuals will emerge through 80% online voting and 20% decision of the judges committee to ensure credibility and competence of the participants.
