Plateau Police command arrested cattle Rustlers and paraded Rapists in Jos

The Plateau State Police Command has on Wednesday paraded two suspected cattle Rustlers arrested in Agigi village of Bassa Local Government of the State.

Commissioner of Police in the State Mr Undie Adie while briefing Journalists at the Command Headquarters in Jos said the two suspected cattle rustlers Bala Yahaya Mohammed and Salihu Ishaku rustled 15 cows and 14 sheep after killing a seven years Mohammed Ibrahim who was in charge of the fifteen cows and fourteen sheep.

Adie also paraded three rapists Suleiman Usman, Umar Aliyu and Usman Bala all of Angwan Rogo Jos who conspired with one Yahaya Alias Kenza to raped one Basima Bashir 14 years in his room after they drugged her.

“Preliminary investigation at the Police Division revealed that the cows and sheep belong to one Ibrahim Haruna of Agigi in Bassa LGA of Plateau State which were stolen with the connivance of some herdsmen. The suspects conspired and killed one Mohammed Ibrahim aged seven (7) years who was together with them and was in charge of the fifteen cows and fourteen sheep”.

The Police Commissioner disclose that the suspects have been apprehended and are assisting the Police in the investigation at the State CID Jos.

“Also on the 26/01/2018 one Zainab Mohammed of Angwan Rogo Jos went to Angwan Rogo Police Division and reported that on the 23/01/2018 Suleiman Usman, Umar Aliyu and Usman Bala all of Agwan Rogo Jos conspired with one Yahaya Alias Kenza Surname unknown now at large and lured her daughter one Basima Bashir age 14 years to his room and drugged her and when she became unconscious and out of her senses, she was raped by the suspects”.

He said the suspects had equally confessed to the allegation and the case will be transferred to state CIID for in depth investigation and they shall be charged to court as soon as practicable.

The Police Commissioner while speaking on the security challenges in the state however said that urgent steps are being taken in synergy with other security agencies to resolve the violent clashes with a view to ensuring the return of Peace in the affected areas.

The three rapists are Suleiman Usman, Umar Aliyu and Usman Bala
