Plateau PDP Tussle: PDP NWC Steps in, Puts to Rest Prolonged Party Tussle

The leadership crisis in the Plateau state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party may have been put to rest following the long awaited intervention of the National Secretariat of the party.

Consequently, the National Working Committee of the party has asked the suspended state Chairman, Damishi Sango to tender his resignation while the party’s deputy chairman, Amos Gombi, who was earlier suspended by the party’s state executive committee alongside Sango, is now to take over the affairs of the party as acting chairman in line with the party’s constitution.

Jay FM gathered that these were some of the far reaching decisions taken by the Uche Secondus led PDP National Working Committee after receiving the report of the party’s leadership crisis submitted to it by the David Mark peace panel.

Jay FM equally learnt that part of the report also recommended that the 16 Exco members that wrote the petition against Sango and his Deputy, which precipitated the crisis that engulfed the party leadership were also directed to withdraw the petition immediately .

Confirming the development in their separate statements, State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, John Akans and the Media Aide to Damishi Sango, Emma Macham said that stakeholders would abide by the decision of the National Working Committee in the interest of the party.
