Plateau PDP Newly Elected LG Executives Take Over from Outgoing

Today, the Newly elected Local Government Executives of the PDP in Plateau State assumed office following the expiration of the 4 years tenure of the outgoing who were sworn in on 5th May, 2016. They are to serve a 4 year tenure ending 5th May, 2024.

A Press Text signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party in Plateau State, Hon. John Akan, KSM and made available to Online Reporters said the decision is in line with the approved list of the newly elected Local Government Executives by the National Secretariat of the party.

Hon. Akans said “In line with the approved list of local government executives of our party, (the people’s Democratic party, PDP) and in accordance with the Party’s constitution considering the expiration of local government tenure today, this day 5th of May 2020, the state working committee has approved the inauguration of the newly executives, having given that approval, the newly executives are here by inaugurated as local government executives from this day 5th May 2020 with immediate effect.”

PRESS STATEMENT.

TUESDAY, 5th May 2020.

In line with the approved list of local government executives of our party, (the people’s Democratic party, PDP) and in accordance with the Party’s constitution considering the expiration of local government tenure today, this day 5th of May 2020, the state working committee has approved the inauguration of the newly executives, having given that approval, the newly executives are here by inaugurated as local government executives from this day 5th May 2020 with immediate effect.

The party appreciates and commends the outgoing local government executives for providing a purposeful, responsible leadership to the party, while in office up to the end of their tenure, we implore the old executives to continue supporting the party in their various local government and wards respectively ,as we continue to pilot the affairs of our party together at the state level, we assure you all of our commitment, integrity and our desire zeal to serve you all and to as well lead you to victory come 2023.

We encourage the incoming executives, critical stakeholders and members of our great party across the state to remain calm and continue to work for the progress of the party in the spirit of reconciliation, members should equal note that all areas as identified by the report as inconclusive or no election will be taken care of in conjunction with the national leadership of our great party,

As opposition, we urge our newly sworn in local government executives to be committed in reconciling all members of our great party in their respective local government areas, the state executive are as well committed in that regard, while playing our role of oversight in checkmating government activities day by day by making sure that the best interest of the people is uphold.

Finally we call on all party faithfuls to remain united in support of our party’s leadership from national down to state,local government and wards level for our collective victory ahead, even in this present challenges of COVID-19 , as law abiding party, let us all continue to support directives and guidelines issued by Government as preventives measures against this dreaded COVID-19 by observing social distancing and keeping ourselves hygienically clean even as we await further directives from the government, we
