Jos — Members of the PDP in Plateau State aligned with the Prof Jerry Gana-led Concerned Stakeholders for the party’s parallel convention in Abuja because they want to redeem the image of the party.

Birtus Kaze, the convention’s contact person in the state, told journalists, yesterday, that he mobilised about 300 persons, including delegates and supporters from across the state, to participate in the Abuja convention.

“In Plateau, we believe in the founding fathers of the party because they are concerned about the ideals of our great party, which we have lost. That was what led to the embarrassing defeat we suffered in 2015. We are concerned that the final nailing of the coffin will happen soon if the party is still left in the hands of hijackers,” Kaze, who contested for the state chairmanship position of the party said.

He said those supporting the Ibrahim Mantu-led faction of the party in the state have been vindicated, that the Port-Harcourt convention will end in a fiasco.
