Yesterday, a distinguished son of the soil, Mr. Despan Kwardem was showered with accolades in Abuja for his masterpiece novel authored and cast using Plateau characters.
The recognition was given during the launch of the book titled the 7th Messenger, at Reiz Hotel Abuja. The colorful event was well attended by imminent personalities from around the country.

The SEVENTH MESSENGER uses the story of Nankyer to interrogate some customs and cultural practices that hold our society back.

Some of the dignitaries at the occasion were Prof. Jerry Gana, Dr. Patrick Dakum, Chief Obadiah Tohomdet, Dr. Tunji Alaopa, Dr. Yusuf Dadem, the representative of the Governor of Taraba state, Special Assistant to the President on Youth Matters, Students, Corpers, Minister of Youth and Sports development representatives, representative of Barr. I D Gyang, Gideon Dashe etc. 

Despan Kwardem is a career civil servant who works as a youth development officer at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development Abuja. In his twelve year career as a civil servant, Despan has written over 300 speeches etc.

He’s Mupun by tribe and hails from Abwor-Dyis village of Pankshin Local Government
