Plateau: New OPSH commander assumes duty

Major General Anthony Atolagbe has assumed office as the new Commander of Operation Safe Haven in Jos, Plateau State.

Maj.-Gen. Atolagbe, who was transferred from the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, took over from Major General Rogers Ibe Nicholas, who was transferred to the Army Headquarters as Chief of Logistics.

During the hand-over ceremony yesterday, the outgoing commander said he achieved the mandate given to him because he was leaving Plateau State better than he met it.

“Clashes between farmers and herdsmen have reduced drastically and we have not recorded any case of cattle rustling in the past seven months,” he said.

The new Commander OPSH, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, enjoined officers of the command to work hard to maintain the peace. He said he would make sure that troops in the field carry out their duties with high sense of professionalism.
