Plateau MAN donates relief materials to IDPs in Plateau

Plateau branch of the Manufactures Association of Nigeria ( MAN ) on Monday presented relief materials to internally Displaced Persons IDPs of the killings in Plateau as part of its pre annual general meeting activities in Jos .
Our correspondent reports that the group visited the IDP camp in Barkin Ladi local government area of the state
Items presented to the IDPs donated by the member companies of the Association includes bags of rice , bags of flour ,groundnut oil, other products and beverages .
Speaking while presenting the materials to the IDPs the chairman MAN Plateau branch which comprises of seven states Alhaji Ahmed Jarma lamented the killings of innocent persons in Plateau .
Jarma who was represented by his vice chairman Mr Mhir Aii Iyenge said ” we are here to commiserate with the victims and also to donate relief materials to limit the suffering of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in some camps in some affected local government areas of Plateau State.
The group also condemned the killings and commiserated with the people and government of Plateau State over the sad event.
He called on both the government and security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation into the carnage to avoid a repeat of such in the future and equally tasked all stakeholders to unite and address the security challenges .
Our correspondent also reports that MAN paid a courtesy call on the state Governor Simon Lalong who was represented by his deputy Professor Sonnie Tyoden to commend the government on reviving some moribund industries in the state and also to address some pertinent issues affecting the manufacturing sector of the state.
MAN is expected to host its 33rd Annual General Meeting with the theme Unstable Economic Polices Insecurity in Nigeria A Bane to the Sustainability of the Manufacturing Sector on Tuesday .
