PLATEAU LOCKDOWN & FUMIGATION: KUDOS TO CITIZENS
BY CHRIS GYANG
Someone who has witnessed lockdowns in other states, especially Abuja, Lagos and Ogun, gave Plateau citizens an overwhelming kudos for complying with the PLSG’s order.
Although the policy of keeping the social safety distance wasn’t much adhered to, citizens generally obeyed the lockdown order as much as possible.
Anyone who went through the streets of Jos, environs and other parts of the state will attest to this. But, unfortunately, Lalong’s fumigation teams never came.
Be that as it may, the greatest credit goes to the men and women of the community watch and vigilance groups who kept watch throughout this most trying period. Of course, they would have erred here and there, still they are the heroes who kept the people in check under all circumstances.
And like we’ve said elsewhere, it’s now left for the Lalong government to make the sacrifices of citizens and these men and women who made this lockdown possible worthwhile.
But, by the way things stand now, can the Lalong government truly come out clean on this lockdown and fumigation matter? The people are watching.
Once bitten, twice shy. For Lalong, true leadership is lacking.
