Jos — Plateau State PDP Youth Vanguard 4 Grassroots Mobilisation (PPYV4GM) has warned that any plan to rig the October 10, 2018 Plateau State Local Government Election will be resisted by the masses.

At a press conference today in Jos, PPYV4GM President, D’yong Mangut, said that the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) should conduct a free, fair, credible election and allow the will of the people to prevail.

The group dismissed statements credited to ranking persons in the APC led administration in the State that election results have already been written and will be announced in Jos the State capital.

The PPYV4GM said: “PDP members and voters should wait after casting their votes, ensure results are announced at the unit levels up to the ward and LGA collation centres”. “Results should be escorted and defended”, D’yong Mangut stated.

“Elections may have been rigged elsewhere but we will strongly resist any attempt by anyone to undermine the election”. “Electoral thieves should note that the electorates are wiser and more sophisticated today to defend their votes by means necessary”.

The group called on Plateau people to turn up en mass to perform their civic duty and vote the PDP so as to banish “hunger, growing poverty, and worsening insecurity” in the State and expressed confidence that the PDP will sweep the polls having presented credible candidates and campaigned based on issues.
