This was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Prince Maipahen ,the Coordinator, CNYGG and made available to newsmen in Jos.

The statement reads that “Having closely monitored the electoral process from its commencement to its conclusion, we are proud to acknowledge that the Commission truly lived up to its promise of delivering free, fair, and credible elections.”

“The fact that various political parties won councilorship seats across the 17 local government areas of the state is a testament to the transparency of the exercise and the integrity of the electoral process.” It is clear that the voice of the people was heard, and their votes genuinely counted.”

The group added that “We urge other state electoral bodies across the nation to draw inspiration from the commendable example set by Mr. Plangji Cishak and his team.”

“Their efforts have demonstrated the true spirit of democracy and good governance at the grassroots level, the tier of government closest to the people.”

The statement also reads that” We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for upholding democratic principles by allowing the Commission to discharge its mandate freely, without undue interference. This gesture has greatly contributed to the success of the elections and sets a positive example for the rest of the country.”

“We congratulate all the candidates who emerged victorious in the Plateau local government council polls.”

” It is our sincere hope that with the recent grant of local government autonomy by the Tinubu administration, the third tier of government will be fully empowered to deliver people-centered governance that truly serves the needs and aspirations of the people at the local level” the statement further reads.
