Plateau State Government on Tuesday said it acknowledges President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent directive to the Federal Ministry of Finance that funds spent by the state government on the construction of federal roads be refunded to the state.
The statement which was signed by Hon Yakubu Dati, the Commissioner for Information and Communications and made available to newsmen in Jos reads that “The President’s directive fulfills one of the promises he made to the state when he visited in March this year.”
“Government appreciates this gesture which comes from the President’s characteristic sense of fairness in his management of national resources.”
“Government recalls the President’s visit to the state early in the year and is proud to identify this development as a direct fall-out of that event. “
“Furthermore, the existing synergy between the Federal Government and Plateau State under the visionary leadership of Rt. Hon Simon Lalong continues to attract the desired dividends as the rescue administration pursues its 5-point policy thrust.”
“Therefore, government implores citizens to accept in good faith the opportunities being created by the present administration for the benefit of all.’
