Plateau Killings: Rt. Hon. Johnbull Shekarau Visits Displaced Persons

The Honorable Member representing Shendam/Qua’anpan/Mikang Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and former Deputy Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Johnbull Shekarau has visited the Camps Housing the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Barkin Ladi LGA following the barbaric killings by Killer Herdsmen that left over 250 persons murdered, scores injured and property destroyed.
Rep. Johnbull Shekarau urged the people to remain steadfast and trust in God by saying he believe they would emerge stronger at the end of it all.
He condemned the attacks and called on government at all levels to rise up to their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property of the citizens.
He called on the security agencies to observe high sense of professionalism and objectivity in discharging their primary duty while urging them to ensure perpetuators of the killings are arrested and brought to book.
He was accompanied by the member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang.
The Rep. Member visited the camps in Gassa and Rakwok Wards.
Head of COCIN LCC Kworos, Rev. Silas Dodo thanked Hon. Johnbull for the kind gesture and pray God to replenish him while urging them to come up with legislations that would protect the citizens from aggressions.
Community leaders also applauded him for coming to their aid with relief materials.
Rep. Barr. I. D. Gyang thanked him for being kindhearted and visiting his Constituents over the ugly incident that befell them.
He said government has failed in its principal and cardinal responsibility of protecting lives and property.
Barr. I. D. Gyang said the attacks are planned genocide aimed at annihilation and ethnic cleansing of the people in order to takeover their lands.
