Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong  on Thursday appreciated the show of brotherhood by members of the Middle Belt Forum.

Governor Lalong was speaking when the Forum led by it’s President, Dr Bogu Bitrus paid him a condolence visit at Government House Rayfield.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden noted that if eleven villages would be ransacked by people who are desperate to take over the land, it shows a grand plan of conquest which will not be allowed by all and sundry.

Earlier, President of the Forum, Dr Bogu Bitrus noted that they were in Plateau state to commiserate with the people over the gruesome murder of the people of the Middle Belt by terrorists and refuted claims that it is a farmers/herders clash.

He noted that the Governors of the Middle Belt must be resolute at ensuring their land is defended from any further calculated attempted conquest by people who attack them without any form of provocation.

The leader of the delegation further stressed that their farmlands and villages will no longer be forcefully taken, noting that the calculated one sided killing by the terrorists will no longer be tolerated.

Bitrus pointed out that “every nationality has a demarcation which can not be forcefully taken… the land for the Taroh is a land for the Taroh, the land for the Berom is for the Berom and Chibok for Chibok people”

Notable personalities among the delegation included two former Military Administrators of Plateau state, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman and Major General Lawrence Onoja.

Others are Major General Zamani Lekwot, .

Also, the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom also led a delegation to commiserate with Plateau people over the recent attack which left in its wake blood shade and mourning.

Ortom, through his Deputy, Benson Abounu said the people of Benue share in their grief and described the attack as heinous. Plateau State Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden who received the delegation on behalf of Governor Lalong and the Good people of Plateau state appreciated the show of love and concern by the government and people of Benue.
