Plateau Killings: Dr. Chomo Datiyi Urges Govt and Security Agencies to be More Proactive

It is no longer news that the people of Plateau State are under siege and attempts are being made by terrorists who are well funded and supplied weapons by their sponsors to unleash mayhem and hostilities in Plateau State.

The continuous killings, destruction of crops and razing of houses in Bassa, Jos South, Jos East, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Bokkos are indication that the security of lives and property of the citizens are no longer guaranteed.

As a Patriotic Citizen, may I call on government at all levels and our security apparatus to up their game to confront the terrorists before they run over the entire State and Nation at large.

It is obvious that government and the security agencies have been overwhelmed by the Terrorists and in some cases, the complicit disposition of those whose duty is the protecting lives and property of the citizens is quite disturbing and calls for thorough investigation.

More worrisome is the fact that intelligence reports are being received prior to the devilish attacks and disseminated to the right quarters but nothing is being done to stem the attacks which had led to the killings of many and the burning of houses.

Government must rise up its responsibility and do what is expected of it.

The killings and destructions have gotten out of hand and requires urgent intervention. Government and security agencies must show political will and the capacity to bring an end to this madness and sense killings and other criminal activities of the marauders.

I sympathize with those who lost loved ones, those whose property were destroyed and pray for speedy recovery to those injured.
