Plateau killings – APC Youths calls for immediate arrest of Miyetti Allah scribe

*Vows to resist land grabbing in any part of the state .

Following the unfortunate killings of innocent citizens of Plateau in Barkin Ladi local government by suspected herdsmen  ,the All Progressive Youths  APC Youths Online Forum in Plateau State on Wednesday called   for the immediate arrest of the chairman, North Central Zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) Alhaji Danladi Ciroma over the killings of over 200 citizens in Plateau State.

“We vehemently condemn these cowardly ,dastardly and calculated attacks on our people in Plateau and demand the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of  the act ”

Addressing  a joint press conference  in Jos ,the Chairman of the group Comrade Pius Tongmaan and Secretary Makut Alfred Mashat said ” We call on the Federal Government led by our detrabilized and patriotic president Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of public importance mandate the security agencies to arrest and question the statements attributed to the North Central Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria ,who has given a lead about the perpetrators of the attack by referring to it as retaliatory ,where he justified the killings on the basis of over 300cows  allegedly rustled by some natives of Barkin Ladi.”

“In as much as we don’t condole criminally by acts of cattle rustling ,we also do not accept any individual or group that resort to taking laws into their hands by killing and maiming innocent women and children or the cowardly acts of blocking the federal highways and killing innocent travelers by setting their vehicles ablaze .”

” We the APC youths are pained by the killings of our brothers, sisters ,mothers and children  in Barkin Ladi .”

 “Elders in Plateau have   disappointed us ,Plateau elders  are not united as they are scattered along party lines  we know our common enemy ,but some of this  elders  have refused to come together to fight them.”

“We call for the establishment of a state owned localized security outfits to complement the efforts of the existing security architecture that is overstretched .”

“We stand with our Governor Simon Lalong  and we the Youths of the state   would not tolerate land grabbing in any part of the Plateau .”

“We condemn   those fighting, killing  people  and destroying their settlements with the intention  of taking ownership of such places would not be allowed to do so ”

“As youths we would resist land grabbing in any part of the state .

We condemn in totality the call for the resignation of the governor by the opposition party because its ill timed .”

We thank his Excellency Governor of Plateau state Hon Simon Lalong for his quick response in making sure that security operatives were swiftly mobilized and conscious efforts were made to make sure peace and normalcy was restored in the affected communities .

We also want to thank the federal government for its concerns by the quick reaction of the vice president and subsequently ,President Muhammadu Buhari ,Senate President as well ,the former President ,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo ,we appreciate the response and show of care at this trying moment of grief in the state 

We call for the introduction of a community justice system whereby defaulters will be treated by the settlers in conjunction with the state government ,Vigilante groups ,village heads ,Ardos etc .

We the APC youths on line call for the full implementation of the Plateau roadmap to peace documents as championed by the Plateau peace building agency that has compensation plans that entails rebuilding and restoration of affected communities 

The group also called for rehabilitation programmes for traumatized victims and internally displaced persons that have fled from their ancestral homes 

“Government should reclaim the villages and lands over powered by the herdsmen and secure it for the natives .

We want to also in strong terms condemn the peaceful protest that turned violent s held yesterday the 27th of June 2018 led by the Christian Association of Nigeria that was hijacked by some hoodlums that vandalized public properties and smashed vehicles worth millions of naira ,We want to condemn the activities of the opposition in the state that have been feasting on the attacks to make a capital issue by spreading propaganda ,inciting and promoting hate speech   on social media 

This is a Plateau project that involves all the citizens of Plateau to rise up across party lines ,ethnic differences and religious bigotry to face a common enemy that are hell bent on capturing our land
