Plateau Joint Union of Tertiary Institution Strike Gets Compliance

In a statement jointly signed by Mr Paul Dakogol and Solomon Ayum, the Chairman and Secretary of JUPTI respectively and made available to Newsmen, the Union said the Seven (7) working days ultimatum given to the government which elapsed on 31st August, 2018 wasn’t honored by the government which necessitated the indefinite strike action.

With the statement, the strike action commenced today Monday 3rd August, 2018. It went further to state that during the strike action, all administrative activities will be suspended with immediate effect and the strike the statement posited will be total until the demands of the Unions are met.

While the statement directed all staff to comply with the strike, the statement said no staff is to receive any directive from any quarter except from JUPTI.

Viewpoint Nigeria was at Plateau State Polytechnic Jos Campus where full compliance with the strike directive was noticed with students stranded at the Institution’s gate which was locked.

Vehicles were also seen at the gate with officials of JUPTI spotted ensuring compliance.
