The suspension of Hon. Isaac Kyale Kwallu by the Plateau State House of Assembly has suffered major setback today as Plateau High Court presided over by His Lordship Hon. Justice N. L. Musa today has ordered his reinstatement.
Hon. Isaac Kwallu has approached the Court to challenged his suspension which he termed as illegal, unconstitutionally, null, void and of no effect.
The Court after hearing the case Suit No: PLD/J328/2020 instituted by Yetunde Nze Esq with N. M. Nyelong Esq for the Plaintiff/Applicant, Hon. Isaac Kwallu granted all the reliefs sought including an interim injunction restraining the Defendants/Respondents whether by themselves, their servants, agents and privies, from doing anything or continuing any act or making any pronouncement or taking any step whatsoever or otherwise acting in any manner that will interfere, or have effect of interfering with Hon. Kwallu’s three-year term of office before its expiration in October, 2021 pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.
The motion on notice will be heard on 14th August, 2020.
It will be recalled that Hon. Isaac Kwallu the Executive Chairman of Qua’anpan Local Government Council and his Kanam Counterpart, Hon. Abbas Wokdung were suspended by the Plateau State House of Assembly on the 30th of June, 2020.
The two council chairmen were suspended by the lawmakers during their plenary.
