A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hon.Dr. Timothy Golu has said he is out to restore true democratic governance on the Plateau because that is what is basically lacking to the present administration.

The former member representing Pankshin, Kanke Kanam federal constituency made the disclosure when he paid a solidarity visit to the the party’s executive at its secretariat in Jos .

According to him , “True democratic governance stopped with the administration of David Jonah Jang, since the present administration took over in 2015, there is no more justice, there is no rule of law, impunity becomes the order of the day.

“That is what I am coming to correct, I will return the state to the path of progress, equity and justice”

Hon. Golu who also spoke on electoral reform faulted President Muhammadu Buhari for refusing to sign the electoral Act, saying President Buhari himself is a beneficiary of electoral reforms of past administration.

Similarly, another aspirant under the platform of PDP Hon. Alfred Dapal in a separate visit while addressing party executive and stakeholders promise to unite citizens of the state as a foundation for meaningful development.

He also lamented that the lingering insecurity in state calls for urgent solution saying, he has realized that it will be difficult for a State governor to succeed without unity and security of the people.

“There is nothing you can do without unity, we must put our heads together as people of Plateau state and take our destiny in our hands. When we are United, it becomes easy for us to achieve what ever goal we set for ourselves”

He noted that the people are facing challenges in every sector of their lives and these challenges can be easily resolved with unity.

“You noticed that under this regime, people are leaving Plateau state because of lingering security challenges, Hence I decided to contest with the aim to rescue Plateau and make it viable and safe for everyone.

“The world is going digital, Plateau remain analogue. We are talking of Covid-19, the state cannot initiate a home-grown solution. As a leader you have to come out of your comfort zone and work for the people. You must provide solutions to security challenges, you must. The prevailing economic downturn must be resolved.

“The agricultural drive that is not working well, you have to be there. Our medical care is in shamble, you have to get it right. Plateau has to be a medical tourist destination in this country”
