Plateau Govt Holds Orientation Session for Over 3, 500 Newly Engaged Beneficiaries of N-Power

Plateau state government on Wednesday organised an orientation session for over 3,500 newly engaged beneficiaries of N power from the Northern Senatorial district of the state .
Speaking during the occasion Dr. Sumaye Fadimatu Hamza, the State Focal Person of the Social Investment Programme (SIP) said over 12 billion naira has been expended on N power graduates ,stipends and devices from batch ,National home grown school feeding programme ,funds given yo cooks to feed pupils ,government enterprise empowerment programme ,market and trader money in plateau .
She said ” the federal Government has introduced measures to shore-up employment in order to eradicate poverty and transform the nation’s economy.”
“One of the policies of government to drastically reduce unemployment and by extension reduce poverty , the N-Power programme is aimed at engaging thousands of Nigerian youths.
“The N-Power provides a structure for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development while linking its core and outcomes to stimulating the larger economy.
“The beneficiaries of the programme will help in diversifying Nigeria’s economy as well as actualising economic and strategic aspirations of achieving food security and self sufficiency.
She called on the beneficiaries to serve as agents of positive change and participate in mentorship programmes
Also speaking at the occasion Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong said his adminstration is determined to better the lives of citizens of the state .
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State Richard Tokgma, Lalong said in complementing the efforts of the federal Government, the Plateau state government had been providing succour to unemployed youths in the state.
As a responsible government we shall continue to provide the necessary opportunities to attract more interventions that will enhance the well being of the people of Plateau.
